Hyderabad, Telangana – In a groundbreaking initiative, the Telangana government has unveiled plans to create a vibrant public space, christened ‘T-Square,’ in the bustling Raidurgam area of Hi-Tech City, Hyderabad. This ambitious project aims to become a significant communal hub, drawing inspiration from New York’s iconic Times Square. The Telangana Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TGIIC) has issued a call for tenders, inviting consultancy proposals for architectural and transaction advisory services to bring this vision to life.
The Raidurgam area, known for housing more than 100 large IT/ITeS and BFSI companies and employing nearly one million people, has witnessed rapid growth. Despite constant infrastructural upgrades, the lack of communal spaces for its burgeoning young population has been a notable gap. The TGIIC’s initiative to develop T-Square seeks to address this, providing an engaging environment that embodies the spirit of Cyberabad.
Vision and Purpose
T-Square is envisioned as a multifunctional plaza where people can congregate freely throughout the day to unwind after their daily grind. It will serve as a micro-urban lung for the neighborhood, hosting various events from impromptu concerts to organized gatherings, thus fostering a vibrant and diverse community space. The project aims to create a comfortable and engaging environment, with a strong focus on sustainability and green spaces to enhance the urban environment.
The TGIIC, responsible for planning, development, and maintenance of industrial infrastructure across the state, emphasized the need for an architectural marvel that not only embodies the area’s spirit but also functions as a major tourist destination. The development of T-Square will involve vibrant urban spaces, entertainment hubs, collaboration zones, and commercial intersections, all designed to bring people together.
Consultancy and Development Process
The consultancy for this project is expected to assist TGIIC in several critical tasks, including:
- Project Structure: Suggesting optimal project structures and assisting in finalizing a suitable development framework.
- Bid Management: Supporting the bid process management to identify and select reputable private developers for the project.
- Financial Closure: Facilitating the issuance of the Letter of Award (LoA) to the selected developer, overseeing agreement signing, and reviewing the project until financial closure.
The last date for submission of bids is August 9, up to 3 PM.
